The National EMS Information System's Technical Assistance Center has certified Emergency Reporting as NEMSIS Gold Compliant. This means the Emergency Reporting system meets the data gathering, reporting and security requirements established by the National Emergency Medical Services Information System (NEMSIS). NEMSIS is the national repository that will be used to store EMS data from participating states (48 states and several U.S. territories have agreed to endorse and/or comply with the NEMSIS standard). "The NEMSIS project was developed to help states collect more standardized elements and eventually submit the data to a national EMS database," according to the NEMSIS Technical Assistance Center.
