POSITION SUMMARY

Functions as part of a technology team responsible for the new development and maintenance of the Emergency Reporting system.  This position requires a hard-driving, ambitious, and experienced software developer with strong technical skills and great team skills to be part of the overall software development team.

SALARY AND BENEFITS

Compensation for this position is $50,000-$80,000, DOE.

Depending upon assignment, the incumbent may perform some or all of the following duties.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES

  • Develops new features and performs bug fixing on the existing Emergency Reporting system, which is based on ASP, ASP .NET, PHP, Javascript, TSQL, and other technologies.
  • Updates management with status on a regular basis, or as situations change.
  • Performs performance tuning, with an understanding of programming algorithms.
  • Works in Source Control.
  • Performs other duties, as assigned.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND CERTIFICATIONS DESIRED

  • Solid background in software development.
  • SQL Server 2005 or SQL Server 2008 experience or other equivalent experience, such as Oracle or MySQL.
  • Experience programming web applications in HTML, JavaScript, CSS, ASP, PHP, or similar technologies.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

  • Proficient with Internet usage, computer operation, and a variety of software standard to area of assignment.

  • Additional training will be provided if needed.
  • Position requires on-site attendance; telecommuters need not apply.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Work is performed in an office setting located in Bellingham, WA.  Sits for long periods of time.  Works with electronic equipment and systems.  Communicates in person and via telephone, email, and other standard business mediums.  May occasionally lift and carry items weighing up to 25 pounds.  Possibility of exposure to a variety of chemical allergens and odors standard to office environments and the areas of assignment.  Uses appropriate safety equipment and follows established work safety policies, practices and procedures.
